How to Make Keto Trail Mix
This is just a quick overview of how to make this low carb trail mix. For the recipe in detail, scroll to the recipe card at the end of the post.
There are two (easy!) parts to making this trail mix recipe: first, lightly toasting the pecans. Second, mixing the trail mix!
Lightly toast the pecans in a skillet with Swerve Confectioners to taste.
TIP: If you use a lot of Swerve, the mixture in the pan may begin to smoke a bit. This is okay; just watch to make sure the pecans don’t burn.
When the pecans are toasted, set them aside in a bowl to cool.
Then, combine all of the other ingredients to easily make your Trail Mix.
Portion into small baggies of 1/4 cup each for the best portion control!
Store in the fridge for up to a week.
Is Trail Mix a Healthy Snack?
Trail mix is considered a healthy snack by many of the people who consume it. However, most grocery store sold trail mixes have high amounts of carbohydrates and added sugars in them.
For trail mix to be a healthy snack on any low carb diet you would need to have alternative ingredients that are much lower in net carbohydrates.
Is Trail Mix Keto-Friendly?
Trail mix can be eaten on the keto diet when the ingredients don’t contain heavy carb foods like dried apricots, dried raisons, banana chips, heavy sugar candies like M&M’s and heavy carb snacks like pretzel sticks, and a thin layer of sugary coating added to the ingredients.
To make trail mix keto-friendly you must avoid any high carbohydrate ingredients and use sugar alcohol, or an effective substitute, for the coating.

Made this today and it’s delish!
I did sub coconut chips for the shredded and added it in with the pecans, butter and swerve brown sugar as I do like sweetened coconut.
Thanks for the recipe!
