How to Make Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer {Quick Overview}
This is just a quick overview of some of the steps involved in making the low carb air fryer recipe. For the recipe in detail, including exact measurements used at each step, scroll to the recipe card at the end of the post.
⏲ BEFORE YOU GET STARTED: If it’s an option on your air fryer, preheat your air fryer to 360 F. If not, turn air fryer on for 2-3 minutes at 360 F prior to placing the wings into the basket. (Just be careful – the basket gets hot! 🔥)
In a small bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Place chicken wings on a clean plate. Pat them dry, then coat them evenly with olive oil.
Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly onto the wings and rub in to coat evenly.
Place the wings into the basket of the air fryer, evenly spaced.
⭐ TIP: Depending on the size of your air fryer, you will likely need to work in batches.
Cook wings for 12 minutes, then use tongs to flip the wings over and cook for an additional 12 minutes.
Increase air fryer temperature to 390 F and air fry wings for an additional 6 minutes, flipping them at the 3-minute mark.
Using a meat thermometer, check the internal temperature to ensure a temperature of at least 165 F.
🤤 TIP FOR AMAZING WINGS: The wings are technically “done” (i.e., safe to eat) at 165 F, but they will taste best in the 180 F-200 F range. If needed, cook for an additional 2-5 minutes to reach the ideal temp.
Remove wings from air fryer and serve, or add additional wing sauce, then serve.
