When it comes to MCT oil powder and the keto diet, you probably fall into one of three categories: 1) you use it and love it, 2) you’ve heard of it but have never tried it, or 3) you have no idea what I’m talking about. (There isn’t a “have used it and hate it” category because I’ve never talked to anyone who doesn’t like MCT oil powder after they’ve tried it!)

For those of you who fall into category #2 or #3, this post is for you! I wanted to put together a super comprehensive post about MCT oil powder that explains everything you need to know about MCT oil powder as well as my favorite brand. I hope you find this post useful!

If you just want to buy MCT oil powder, skip to the end of this post for the details and a coupon!

What are MCTs?

MCT stands for Medium-Chain Triglyceride. Because of their shorter fatty acid chain, they can be more rapidly absorbed into the body and converted to energy. In other words, MCTs are a pretty awesome source of fuel for your body and brain.

MCTs are super popular in the keto community because they’re a fast and clean source of fat. MCTs can be derived from palm kernel oil and coconut oil, with the latter being the preferred source if you’re on keto. It’s important to note that coconut oil will never be as strong as MCT oil (or powder) because coconut oil contains other fatty acids, whereas MCTs are (as you would guess!) purely MCTs.

MCT Oil Powder vs. Oil

You can consume MCTs via oil or powder. I personally consume both because I feel they each stand on their own.

  • MCT oil is great to add to veggies, salads, meat, and eggs. I just pour a bit of oil on top (it’s flavorless) and it helps keep my energy levels up.
    • Cons of MCT oil: It’s not portable at all. I don’t want to carry a big bottle of oil around with me in my purse! Also, it separates from liquids if not blended in a high-speed blender.
  • MCT oil powder blends perfectly with liquids and is portable. Plus, with flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and salted caramel, it makes the perfect snack or dessert.

If you’re wondering, MCT oil powder is created by spray-drying MCT oil, as you can see in this chart:

MCT Oil Powder Benefits

One of the huge benefits of MCT oil powder is that it is very gentle on the digestive system. Some people can’t tolerate MCT oil at all and find themselves running to the bathroom non-stop when they try it. MCT oil powder, on the other hand, is very gentle on the digestive system and is perfect for those who can’t tolerate MCT oil.

Plus, as I mentioned above:

  • It blends perfectly with liquids, including coffee.
  • It’s portable. Put some in a plastic baggie and you’re good to go!
  • The flavored versions make the perfect snack or dessert.
  • It is known to help boost energy and improve mental clarity. Who doesn’t want that?!

MCT Oil Powder Reviews from Real Users

I did a search in my Keto Living Facebook group and pulled a few quotes from members about their experiences with MCT oil powder. I think they speak for themselves!

I can’t live without the flavor powder.

Oh man, I got the salted caramel and can’t stop adding it to my coffee.

I use both … the powdered I mix with powdered butter and / or powdered cream to take with me when I’m not at home.

I love the powdered vanilla flavor in my coffee!!!

I’m using keto MCT oil powder in my coffee. I use it once a day.

Have you tried the Perfect Keto MCT oil powder? I use that along with a tablespoon of butter in my coffee, and it’s delicious. Only thing that has saved me. I buy the chocolate flavor.

So I am now on the MCT train! I have to say, it has already made me feel not so hungry and this is just my second day! 😁

If you’re wondering, my review would go something like this: I LOVE THIS STUFF! 🙂 I use it daily in my coffee and especially love the vanilla and salted caramel flavors.

How Can You Use MCT Oil Powder?

  • Blend it with a cup of coffee for the perfect coffee creamer (see the photo below!).
  • Blend it into water or a nut milk. You can use this as a snack, dessert, or pre-workout.
  • Use it in keto dessert recipes.

Here is a cup of hot coffee that has been blended with salted caramel MCT oil powder. I added nothing but the coffee and the powder, and the result was sweet, creamy, and delicious!

The Best MCT Oil Powder Brand

Are you ready to try MCT oil powder? I’ve been using an MCT oil powder brand for the last few months and absolutely love it: Perfect Keto.

Here is why I’ve chosen Perfect Keto:

  • Absolutely no additives or fillers. Their MCT oil powder contains no hidden sugars, starches, or artificial sweeteners.
  • Doctor-developed. Perfect Keto was founded by a functional medicine clinician (Dr. Anthony Gustin) who has put a huge amount of focus into creating the highest-quality, research-based keto supplements.
  • It’s made from coconuts. Some powder is created from palm kernel oil, and that’s not a healthy option.
  • It’s made from the best types of MCTs. There are four different types of MCTs: C6, C8, C10, and C12. C8 and C10 are the most beneficial and effective, and that’s what is used in Perfect Keto’s version.
