Can I Use Ground Turkey to make Chili?
You can use ground turkey as a substitute for ground beef to make chili. Using ground turkey will reduce the overall fat calories, because turkey has less fat per ounce than ground beef. Substitute ground turkey at a ratio of one to one (one pound versus one pound) with ground beef.

- 1 medium red bell pepper chopped
- 28 oz can diced tomatoes
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock

- Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and chicken stock, and again thoroughly stir the mixture. Bring it to a low boil.
- Then, reduce the heat to a gentle simmer. Simmer the chili, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- The chili can be served as-is or topped with cheese (cheddar is a great addition!) and/or sour cream.
Notes
- Make sure to use my Homemade Chili Seasoning recipe for this chili. You will use 1 serving of the seasoning (which is half of the recipe). If you don’t like your chili spicy, reduce or omit the cayenne pepper.
