If your air fryer has the option, preheat it to 375 F. (If not, turn it on at 375 F for 2-3 minutes before adding chicken thighs at Step 5.)
Combine garlic powder, Italian seasoning, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
Dry the chicken thighs with a paper towel and coat them evenly on both sides with olive oil. Then, place them in a bowl or on a plate.
Sprinkle the seasoning mixture onto both sides of the chicken thighs and rub it in to coat evenly.
Put the chicken thighs into the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes.
Flip the chicken over with tongs and cook for an additional 6-10 minutes until the outside is crispy and brown.
Sprinkle half the parmesan cheese over the chicken thighs and air fry again for 2 minutes. Flip the chicken thighs and repeat the process.
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature, ensuring it's at least 175 F. (Tip: Although the chicken is technically done at this point, some people, myself included, prefer to heat it to 185-195 F for the best taste.)
If necessary, further cook the chicken until it reaches the desired temperature.
Remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and sprinkle with additional parmesan cheese if desired.
Let the thighs rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
